THE MAYA CREATED A CIVILIZATION THAT KNEW NO EQUAL

Three thousand years ago, in the fertile, sun-drenched lands of Mexico and Central America, the Maya created a civilization that knew no equal. They built magnificent cities, developed extensive trade routes and fashioned ceremonial centers that arched toward the heavens. Today, the 1500- mile long "Maya Route" runs down the length of the Yucatan Peninsula, crosses the jungles and mountains of Guatemala and loops through verdant Belize. The often dreamlike terrain varies from searing white beaches to impenetrable rain forest. Chilling stone faces stare out of the jungle and rivers disappear into steamy, darkening wells. Thousands of stone dwellings, vast plazas and --- sacbes --- Maya carved roads testify to the greatness of their cities. The intricacy of Maya sculptures and stelae testify to their artistic genius.

Your Cozumel trip would not be complete without a visit to one of these magnificent places. To insure their availability, It is suggested to book all tours before you arrive in Cozumel. Most tours do not include lunch or drinks. Lunch Boxes are available at the"Fat Grouper", please request them the night before. We do not hove control over tour price increases. Full refund will be issued if you do not want to pay the increase.

No refunds for same day changes or cancellations.

DON'T MISS THE BEST NIGHT OUT ON THE TOWN

Downtown San Miguel, the hub of all island activities, comes alive on Sunday nights. This is not a tourist party time, but rather when the residents of Cozumel and all their children (dressed in Sunday finery) congregate in the town square from around 7:00 to 10:00 PM. You'll see skits and a little dancing but most of all it's a great time to get yourself an ice cream and go people watching. The kids alone, dressed up and playing with their friends and schoolmates, are worth the evening's stroll. Since many visitors arrive on a Saturday and leave the following Saturday, make sure you go to town on Sunday night or you'll miss this weekly get together of Cozumel families.
