Netherland Antilles
General Information
About 38 miles off the northern coast of Venezula, Curacao is the largest of the six islands in the Netherland Antilles. The others are Aruba, Bonaire, St. Maarten, St. Eustatius and Saba.
Curacao is generally warm year round. Temperatures rarely exceed 90 degrees F during the day or fall below 75 degrees F at night. Relative humidity averages 75% annually. The effect of the heat and the humidity, however, is lessened by the almost northeast trade winds, which are felt 10 months of the year. Rainfall averages only 22 inches annually, causing the island to be dusty. August, September and October are the warmest months; December, January and February are the coolest.
