Statewide Diabetes Advisory Board (coalition) of Physicians, Certified Diabetes Educators, Nurses and other professionals working or concerned with diabetes, was developed.

Grant re-applications and prepared reports for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Bureau of Health Promotion.
Writing requests for proposals, contracts, bidding out contracts, contract monitoring, assisting with newsletter preparation, planning conferences, workshops and trainings, and writing fact sheets and news releases with the assistance of the public relations person in bureau.
Responsible for preparing a yearly budget and developing budget requests and changes.
Consultation, quality assurance, technical, and training assistance for diabetes education services throughout the state.
Worked with national Diabetes Control Program conferences
Served as a state representative at CDC's bi-annual Division of Diabetes Translation Conferences.
Attended the 1996 Annual Chronic Disease Conference in Phoenix, AZ.
Set-up and assisted in the design and completion of statewide nutrition and diabetes surveys.
Served on CDC's focus group to determine educational needs and methods for the National Diabetes Education Program (NDEP) being implemented in 1997.
Counsel patients referred by physicians on dietary concerns including diabetes, etc.
DAN (Divers Alert Network) launches new medical research into the reliability of current guidelines for divers with insulin-dependent diabetes.
