Additional Remarks:
Team Coordination: Carry equipment to waters edge and enter water at river bank. Two divers down. Safety diver in the boat with one boat operator and the other as crew. The diver will direct any boat up operation by the operator and crew.
Dive Plan: Two divers will inspect one pipe all across the bottom. After inspection of the first pipe the two divers will surface and explain to the boat operator and crew what was found. The divers will then inspect the second pipe and surface on the original side. Once again explaining what was found. The third pipe will be inspected and the divers will surface and report the findings. At this time the camera will be retrieved from the boat. The next crossing will be used to photograph a representative section of pipe.
Inspection: Check the welded ( 4 times) (20 foot sections of pipe) joints for integrity. Check pipe for rust spots and nodules. Check for soundness of the 4 foot diameter steel pipes which are ½ inch thick steel. Two of the pipes (purchased from a Canadian source) were place approximately 26 years prior. They parallel each other and are approximately three feet apart. The third pipe is the same dimensions and at a bit of an angle. Clear Springs Food personnel from Box Canyon facility will be present to assist. Photograph representative pipe sections.
Participating Divers: Phillip E. Graf, Dennis Hawkins and Clayton Spaudling
