To meet your time demands and hectic schedule, PADI has streamlined its system of diver
education.
If you participate in PADI's Discover Scuba or Discover Scuba Diving experience program, you may be able to receive credit for these experiences toward earning your PADI Scuba Diver limited certification or PADI Open Water Diver certification.
The new PADI Scuba Diver rating is a pre-entry level certification that allows you to dive to a maximum depth of 12 metres/40 feet under the direct supervision of a dive professional. Additionally, you may obtain air fills, scuba equipment and other services when diving under supervision and continue your dive training to achieve the PADI Equipment Specialist rating or PADI Open Water Diver rating.
To earn the PADI Scuba Diver certification, you'll need to:
1. Complete the first three confined water dives from the PADI Open Water Diver course.
2. Show mastery of the first three knowledge development sessions of the PADI Open Water Diver Manual.
3. Successfully complete the first two open water dives of the PADI Open Water Diver course.
Simply put, earning your PADI Scuba Diver rating is your passport to quickly, safely and easily becoming a supervised diver. To dive independently, you can continue toward becoming a PADI Open Water Diver.
